Shari Kendall is Associate Professor of Linguistics and Discourse Studies in the Department of English, and Affiliated Faculty in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, at Texas A&M University. Her research interests include gender and discourse, the discursive construction of identities, work and family discourse, framing and positioning, and interactional sociolinguistics. Her publications include articles in Discourse & Society, Text & Talk, and Language in Society; and chapters in The Handbook of Language and Gender, The Sage Handbook of Sociolinguistics, and Speaking Out: The Female Voice in Public Contexts.
